Description
Dysdera crocata female found drowned during my summer holidays last year at the swimming pool of the urbanization I was in. It was a rather large specimen; and to me it looked even a bit larger than the standard size of this spider.
The common name of this spider, “woodlouse spider” simply comes from the fact that she specialized on hunting woodlouses: her extra-long and robust fangs (hard enough so as to go through human skin) are designed not to go through the woodlouse´s shields, but rather to be “inserted” between the shields, where the flesh is at an easier reach.

I'm no spider scholar, but here in the US I see a spider much like this. I had one gnawing on my foot when I was working on my Koi pond. Didn't do much damage so I never considered them a threat. (Thus I didn't intentionally kill them.)
